Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born August
26, 2002 is an American musician and singer. He gained mainstream recognition
with the release of his 2019 single "Ransom" that reached number 4 on
the Billboard Hot 100. The single was released as part of the mixtape he
released in his debut "We Love You Tecca" (2019) that peaked at
number 4 on US Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles Love Me
and Did It Again. The debut album of his studio,"Virgo" (2020) it
debuted at Number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also featured the Billboard Hot
100-charting singles "Dolly" and "When You Down". His
second mixtape We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the
songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and many more. Tyler-Justin
Anthony Sharpe was born August 26, 2002 in the Queens area in New York City to
Jamaican immigrants. He was raised in the Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of
Queens which he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe had always
wanted to join the NBA as a youngster however, at the age of 12 he decided to
pursue a career in music. Sharpe attended Lawrence High School. Tecca at the
age of nine at the time, was rapping with his classmates with his Xbox to
record. The two would sometimes make diss tracks about one another. One of the
tracks was uploaded to SoundCloud years back, but it was removed. The singer
initially didn't intend to pursue a musical career and he envisioned becoming a
NBA star. He began to take music more seriously after he dropped his interest
in basketball when he was in middle school. The first single he released,
"Tectri", which has gained some attention in spring of 2017 was
produced with Lil Gummybear and released in collaboration. Lil Gummybear. Other
preliminary tracks of his include "Callin". His smash hit single
"Ransom," which was first uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade
YouTube channel on May 22 2019 started Tecca's meteoric rise. The track reached
number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has received more than 990 million
views on Spotify and over 300 million views on YouTube.
