Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in
Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is
a stage actor writer and director and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress as
well as acting coach. Her brothers who are older than her are Dana Wood, a
musician and Ira David Wood IV who also have been actors. Evan and her brothers
have performed in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh which is where her father is
the executive director. She was just five when she auditioned for the part of
Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). She relocated to Los
Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in the year 1996. She has enjoyed success
since then, appearing in a television show, TV movie as well as feature films.
She appeared in Practical Magic (1998) in the role of Al Pacino's daughter. The
comedy S1m0ne(2002) followed by Thirteen (2003) featuring Holly Hunter. Her
role as Tracy in "Thirteen," which she performed in the film, earned
her a nomination for the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress:
Drama and a nomination from Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding
Performance By an Actress Female in an Leading Role. In the year of her SAG
nomination she was the youngest actress to be recognized for the Leading Role
category. She earned an award of a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for
"Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Miniseries or Movie" for her
performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011). Also,
she received praise for her impressive performance in the role of Stephanie her
character, Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter in Darren Aronofsky's The
Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David
Wood IV's younger sister and Dana's younger sister. Dancer. She is passionate
about dancing or sing, play the rollblade and horseback ride. She is an black
belt in Tae Kwon-Do. She is in contact with a lot of her Once and Again (1999
castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
